Collaborative Learning and Synergistic Sharing:
A Team-Teaching Initiative

Collaborative Learning and Synergistic Sharing (C.L.A.S.S.) harnesses the power of collaboration by bringing together faculty members to engage in team-teaching. This initiative fosters a dynamic learning environment, where instructors work together to deliver comprehensive insights on the course content, enhancing student engagement and understanding.

C.L.A.S.S. emphasizes academic synergy, teamwork among instructors, and innovative pedagogical approaches, enriching both the teaching and learning experience. Through this collaborative framework, instructors provide students with a more integrated and multifaceted understanding of the subject matter, benefiting everyone involved.

OBJECTIVES

Foster Collaborative Teaching

To cultivate a collaborative teaching environment where instructors from various disciplines work together to deliver integrated and diverse perspectives on course content, enriching the learning experience for students.

Enhance Student Engagement

To boost student participation and engagement by exposing them to a range of expert viewpoints, encouraging critical thinking and a deeper understanding of complex topics through team-taught sessions.

Promote Interdisciplinary Learning

To create an interdisciplinary learning platform that bridges gaps between different fields of study, enabling students to see the interconnectedness of concepts and apply a broader skill set to real-world challenges.

Each class is led by two or more instructors with complementary expertise from related disciplines, providing students with a diverse and comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.

Instructors jointly design the course syllabus, aligning their respective topics for seamless integration. Regular meetings are held before and during the course to ensure cohesive content delivery and assess adjustments based on student feedback.

Classes are taught collaboratively, with instructors alternating or working together during lectures, discussions, and activities. Team teaching methods may include joint presentations, panel discussions, or moderated debates to showcase different perspectives.

Assessments will reflect the interdisciplinary approach of the course. Instructors will jointly evaluate projects and exams using a standardized rubric to ensure fairness and consistency in grading.

Students are encouraged to interact with all instructors during and after class, providing them with the opportunity to explore different perspectives and gain well-rounded feedback on their assignments and projects.

At the end of the term, instructors will hold a reflection meeting to assess the program's effectiveness. Student feedback will also be collected to continuously improve course content and teaching strategies.
